The Gen3 Battery Has Landed!
Introducing… the all-new Giv-Bat 5.12 – designed to be easier for the installer, and more efficient for the end user. Let’s take a look at the new product available on the Segen Portal.
What are the key benefits of the Giv-Bat 5.12?
• It gives you more power. 100% depth of discharge means you can use the full 5.12kWh capacity within the battery. So, more energy to run each home on.
• It gives you more flexibility. The product is incredibly small and lightweight – making for ever-easier installations, in ever-more compact spaces.
• It gives you more options. The Giv-Bat 5.12 is GivEnergy’s most versatile battery. You can wall-mount it, floor-stand it, double, triple, or quadruple it up – all depending on the property and its power needs.
How does the new 5.12 compare to the current 5.2?
• Improved depth of discharge
The current 5.2 offers 80% depth of discharge. (Meaning you can only use 4.16kWh of your battery.)
The 5.12, as mentioned above, comes with 100% depth of discharge. So, even though the number might look smaller at first glance – you’re actually getting a higher-capacity system with more bang for your buck.
• More compact size
The current 5.2 comes in at 515H X 223D x 480W (mm), with a weight of 63kg.
The new 5.12, meanwhile, comes in at 338H X 242D x 480W (mm), with a weight of 50kg.
So, it packs more power into a much more compact unit.
• Ease of install
The older Giv-Bat 5.2 uses lug to lug wiring, and requires the installation of a separate DCMCB isolator.
GivEnergy has updated the 5.12 to make installation plug and play. It comes with pre-installed isolator, and has simple plug to plug connections. So, there’s minimal wiring, and little to actually fit.
• Improved connectivity
If, for whatever reason, you have to manually upload firmware updates to the 5.2 battery, you would first need to physically remove the front cover to do so.
The Giv-Bat 5.12 has a USB port now readily available outside the battery. Easier for the installer, easier for the customer.
